The Fairground Mercury
The September edition of The Fairground Mercury, the quarterly magazine of the Fairground Association of Great Britain,
has been posted to all its members.
This 40-page, full-colour issue includes the second part of Ian Trowell’s survey of the Octopus ride in which he nominates his ‘Top 8’, complete with pictures of them. The fairground artist Roger Vinney, who died earlier this year, applied his talents to quite a few of these rides and his work is remembered in this edition. Also remembered is the late Dave Springthorpe, one of the FAGB’s original members and a much-respected man in the fairground business. Mike Willis contributes his usual update on machines that have changed hands in the last quarter, while Doug Roseaman offers some sound advice to
modelmakers. And there’s lots more!
